Jesse - Congratulations on your performance on Pikes Peak. I raced on a team in the 24 hours of Steamboat, was amazed by your performance there and found out you were running the peak. My wife and I are on the race committee and run the A-frame (just below treeline) aid station and I was curious how you would do. Fininshing 85 not many people are going to realize what an amazing performance that was coming from the second wave. A buddy of mine who findished 10 at mount Evans (run) also ran second wave and was leading for the first couple of aid stations. He wound up 199. I hope you get the chance to come back and run from the first wave or maybe run the marathon (I love running down that mountain) I think you would find it even more enjoyable to run with some open trail and not needing to pass 700 people. Congrats again. Jeff

Sorry about the delay following the race/ride in Snowmass. I skipped Telluride for the Laramie Enduro last weekend; pulled off a 3rd place at 5hrs39minutes (3.5 hours of riding solo in 3rd place for about 38 miles--ouch).
Have fun on your traverse. If you make it to Steamboat Springs there is an excellent hike/traverse in the flat tops wilderness called Devil's Causeway (Megan and I did this 2006 with our kids in backpacks & a lightning storm all the way town--typical Colorado).
Your photo of the rock garden is great--better w/o the injury. I raced the Master Worlds in Bromont 2002. No one in Colorado appreciates how nasty that section was. I do not want to ever race there on wet trails!
Have fun on the traverse.
Jamie

Hey Jesse,
This is your fellow LSSU engineer, class of 2000. I came across your web page, looks like you've had a few adventures out there.
How was Sneffels? I was out riding in Durango and Moab last fall, and finished the trip hiking up Sneffels. It was absolutely awesome up there.
Looking forward to another trip out there in September.
Later, Brendan
********************************************** - Great to hear from you Brendan, been a while since we've sat in one of Deusing's class, eh?
